Court Papers Show NJ Teacher Did More Than Just Rant About LGBT

Via the New Jersey Star-Ledger, there is a lot more that English teacher Viki Knox did other than just rant on Facebook about LGBT right.  Court papers now filed by the Union Township School District are showing that Ms. Knox has a history of hatred, bigotry and discrimination.  She is currently on leave without pay.

"Ms. Knox’s statements and actions not only constitute discrimination against GLBT students and staff in Union High School, but are completely incompatible with the aforementioned mission of the Union Township School District," Superintendent Patrick Martin wrote in the filing.

According to the document, the district also found Knox:

• Denied services to a special-education student wearing a gay pride bracelet
• Accused her colleagues of indoctrinating students to live a gay lifestyle
• Likened homosexuality to a "sin" that "breeds like cancer," during a class discussion of Rutgers student Tyler Clementi’s suicide
• Led prayers during a student club meeting, violating federal law and district policy.

Knox originally posted her anti-LGBT rant to Facebook last fall, declaring: “Why parade your unnatural immoral behaviors before the rest of us? AND YOU ARE WRONG! I/WE DO NOT HAVE TO ACCEPT ANYTHING, ANYONE. ANY BEHAVIOR OR ANY CHOICES! I DO NOT HAVE TO TOLERATE ANYTHING OTHERS WISH TO DO.”
